Déjà Vu As Rumors Surface of Nali Patio’s Impending Closure

In what seems like a repeat of the end of June 2022, rumors have surfaced that Sanlitun lifestyle and dining complex Nali Patio is doomed to close soon, according to sources who talked to blogger Beijing Boyce (http://beijingboyce.com/2023/02/03/nali-patio-the-final-countdown-is-on/).

The complex seemed doomed last year when the property owner didn’t follow through with renewing the previous landlord’s sublease, which led said landlord to undertake a day of destruction before Nali Patio underwent a handover.

We can’t say we’re that surprised as, even though most of the current Nali tenants, including Daruma, Bottega, El Barrio, Niajo, Mosto, Wagyukami, and The Bell x Martini, remained in the complex, nothing new has opened since Nali Patio escaped the chopping block last year. Plus, even though the building’s structure was put back together following the handover, no new renovations have been made to the complex thus far.

As for what's in store for Nali Patio, Beijing Boyce says the building could be leveled completely to make way for a new development, with rumors that a foreign department store might enter the space.
